Little League

The ABF through BNSW has requested that we introduce Little League.  For this year only it will run in conjunction with our normal Under 12's competition.

What is it?

Little League is a world wide competition that gives the opportunity of any team to win its way through to the international competition and ultimately the Little League World Series.

What is different?

The two obvious differences are:

Who can play?

Any current player who meets the age criteria .  Rep players must play to qualify in the rep squads.  Our records indicate that we have potential pool of 39 players.  We expect to field at least one team and maybe a combined team with another club.

When will it be played?

At this stage the CSJBA is looking towards Monday (Minor League), and Wednesday (Major League) afternoons.

Is there a cost?

Yes. To assist in offsetting the cost of equipment in fitting out a team, the club has levied a fee of $15.

Who's the coach etc?

We are currently working with a number of Level 1 coaches within the club.  We'll let you know as soon as the coach is appointed.  The coach will not be part of our normal CSJBA coaching squad.  Glenn Ollerton has been appointed as the Comets LL Co-ordinator.  Glenn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the plate. He is currently the Assn U12 rep coach and as such will not be our coach as this would be conflict of interest.  Thanks Glenn for assisting our Little League competion.

As this is a competition above and beyond our normal commitments we will not be running separate training sessions, however the coach will be working closely with our U10 -14 coaches.
